Q: When will the exhibition be on?
A: 15 March 2019 to 9 October 2019.

Q: What is the exhibition about?
A: The exhibition features
NASA’s remarkable achievements in human space flights and space exploration – the greatest adventure that humans have ever undertaken.  Featuring an extraordinary collection of more than 250 historically significant artefacts from the United States and Soviet Union space programs, including original space-flown objects, high fidelity replicas and scale models.

Q: What is the structure of the exhibition?
A: The exhibition is a timed ticketed experience. The box office opens at 9:30am and entry times commence daily at 9:40am, then at 20 minute intervals through to the last entry at 4pm. The exhibition will remain open for exploration until 5pm.   

Q: The exhibition is across two floors of the Museum, how will I move between sections? 
A: The exhibition experience begins on Level 3 of the Museum. Once you have completed this part of the exhibition you can make your way to Level 2 to complete your visit.

Q: Why is entry timed?

A: Timed ticketing helps us make your visit more enjoyable. It gives you the time to view the exhibition at your leisure. Once inside you’re welcome to stay as long as you like. 
Please note the exhibition continues on Level 2.

Arriving for your experience:  You will be permitted to enter at any time during your booking time. If your ticket states 9:40am-10am, you can enter at any time during that 20 minute interval.

Visitor Information

  • All tickets purchased are for single entry
  • Children under 5 are free
  • Large bags, food & drink cannot be taken into the exhibition

Q: When are the Museum’s opening hours for the duration of the exhibition?
A: The Museum is open daily from 9.30am - 5pm. Excluding Good Friday. Open from 1.30pm Anzac Day. 

Q: What ages is the exhibit suitable for?
A: Generally 8 years and over.

Q: How long should I allow for my visit? 
A: 1.5 hours on average. Please note this is a timed entry experience.



Q: Will I be asked to leave if I stay in the exhibition for a long period? 
A: No.

Q: Can I get a pass out or use my ticket to re-enter the exhibit? 
A: Your ticket entitles you to entry of the exhibition on the 2nd and 3rd floors and must be used on the same day. Once you have visited both galleries you will not be able to re-enter. Exhibition tickets are single entry only. 

Q: Can I take in a pram? What items are not allowed in the exhibition? 
A: We ask that people be aware that there is limited room for prams.

  • No large bags
  • No eating and drinking
  • No motorcycle helmets

Q: Can I take photos inside the exhibition? 
A: Yes but to protect the objects and for the comfort of other visitors please do not use your flash. 

Q: Do you have guides and tours within the exhibition? Do you offer audio devices to explain the exhibition?
A: No.

Q: Are there Auslan tours? Can I book an Auslan interpreter? 
A: Currently there are no scheduled tours. Please contact us about booking an Auslan interpreter.

Q: I have hearing difficulties. Can I still enjoy the film? 
A: All films will be subtitled.

Q: I have difficulty reading the exhibition text in low light. 
A: Large print books are available for the exhibition to assist visitors who may have difficulty reading.

Q: Is the exhibit wheelchair friendly? 
A: Yes.

Q: Is there seating within the exhibition?
A: Yes, though limited.

Q: Is the exhibition available in other languages?
A: No.

Q: Is there an APP for my phone/iPad?
A: No

Q: Will there be exhibition talks and events? 
A: Yes. There will be a number of After Dark events held while the exhibition is at the Queensland Museum. Event dates to be announced soon.
