Dr David Ciardi discusses NASA's Kepler Mission: Spawning a Revolution in Exoplanets (and so much more.)

Over the past two decades, scientists have developed techniques to tease out the planetary signals from the stars that host them.

Since the first discovery of a planet outside our solar system only 30 years ago, we now know of more than 3500 planets.

As the Chief Scientist of the NASA Exoplanet Science Institute at Caltech in California, Dr Ciardi will give you the low down on planets outside the solar system and how they were found, as well as an insight into some recent exciting discoveries.

Enjoy this rare opportunity to pose questions to a leading international astronomer about the search for Earth-like planets and all things related to space.

By popular demand Dr Ciardi will present an additional session at 4-5pm.

This talk is free, but tickets are limited and essential.
